Computerization of District Courts

Under the supervision of NIC site preparation was done by the District & Sessions Judge, Dhubri during September, 2001. Hardware was installed by HCL, Guwahati. The hardware consisted of - (i) One Pentium server, (ii) Three GIST terminals, (iii) Three Dot Matrix Printers, (iv) One 0.6 KVA UPS, (v) Four Line Drivers and (vi) One MultiTech Modem. Initially the LBFN Ver. 2.0.30 and Uniplex II Plus 8.10 were installed and configured. The application software DCIS was also installed and initialized. But later on these were replaced by Unixware 1.1, Foxplus, Lyrix 6, Professional and application software LOBIS. Two no. of personnel from District & Sessions Judge were undergone computer training at NIC, Assam State Unit, Guwahati during August,2002. Another training programme was conducted by the NIC, Dhubri District Unit. Two no. of office assistants from the O/o the District & Sessions Judge, Dhubri took part in the training programme. The UPS supplied by the Vendor was giving problem and no fruitful action was taken by the authority for repairing etc. Due to this data entry could not be started for this project.

In 2005 the Ministry of Communication & Information Technology decided to start a new project for computerization of District Courts during the financial year 2005-06. Accordingly the Hon’ble Gauhati High Court selected District of Dhubri for this project out of six districts in Assam. Processing for site selection is going on at present.
